BREAKOUT 1 // 11am - 11:50am  

  • Women in Worship (For Women Only) - Meredith Andrews - MAIN HALL - A special breakout addressing the unique issues women in ministry often face 
  • Leading a Worship Band - Jacob Sooter - DOWNSTAIRS - Many worship leaders know how to manage their own voice and instrument but struggle to know how to lead the other instrunments and vocal on the team. Learn how to effective lead the different members of your worship team from one of Christian music's top music directors.  
  • Worship Theology: How to Navigate the Intersections of Worship and Creative Arts Ministry and Theology - Dr. Josh Samuel - COMMUNION ROOM - One of the key roles of those involved in worship and creative arts ministries includes the role of theologian and teacher. Everyone is a theologian, and worship and creative arts leaders have one of the most influential positions that affects the church’s beliefs about God and the world. For this reason, this session will help us begin to navigate through the important intersections of worship and creative arts ministry and theology.

  • Worship Songwriting - Meredith Andrews & Jacob Sooter - MAIN HALL - Learn how to write worship songs that connect with your congregation and serve the body of Christ effectively from two of Christian musics most sought after worship writers 
  • Worship Vocals - Mallory Mckay, Hillsong Toronto - DOWNSTAIRS - Singing on a worship team is different than performing classical music or singing your own style of music. Learn how to sing effectively in a modern worship style, create an effective vocal blend with others and develop practices to keep your voice in top shape. 
  • Playing Guitar on a Worship Team - Brandon Vandendool, Mountain Park Church - COMMUNION ROOM - Learn the key priciples of tone and technique for electric guitar to bring a new level of electric guitar excellence to your worship team
  • Rocking Your Rhythm Section on a Worship Team - Matt Hann, Hillsong Toronto - FRONT LOBBY - This breakout will focus on the all important drums and bass section of the worship team. Learn how to create a solid foundation for the rest of your team.

  • Leading A Creative Team with Passion & Purpose - Matt & Ashley Hann, Hillsong Toronto - DOWNSTAIRS - Creatives can be a unique group of people to lead! This breakout will encourage and empower you to lead your group of kingdom creatives in a way that brings unity, teaches service and focuses your team to create with excellence for the local church. 
  • Songwriting For Your Church -Chris Vacher & Nikki Fletcher, C4 Worship - FRONT LOBBY - Every week the church sings songs from around the world and across generations. God is at work in every place and space - including your own church! There are some songs that your church needs to sing that nobody else can write for you. Come and talk about how we’ve been doing this at C4 Church for the last five years as we’ve raised up a team of songwriters, written hundreds of songs together, sung song of those songs in our worship services and released albums of original worship songs.
  • Leveraging your Stage to Engage, Inspire & Surprise - Brad Johnson, The Bridge - BASEMENT CLASSROOM - By highlighting several stage designs, you will hear one team's journey towards creating environments that captivate. Brad will expose practical tips on: building a team that shows up, designing for impact without blowing the bank, where to look for inspiration, understanding your community, supporting leadership goals, and staying clear on your teams' purpose so you don't burn out or worse get bored.
  • Playing Keyboards on a Worship Team - Kirland Noah, C4 Worship & Adam Hoskins, Global Kingdom Ministries - COMMUNION ROOM - With the modern sound of worship shifting styles piano & keyboard players must adapt to learn how to use pads, create sounds, run tracks and more in order to effective serve well. Learn how to navigate modern keyboard playing a worship team from two seasoned players.
